The Revelators is an adult Sunday School Class at Indianapolis First Church of the Nazarene. (For more information about our church, click on the link on the right side of this page). Our class is comprised of married couples and singles in an age range from late 30′s to mid-50′s. Some of us are empty-nesters, some of us have kids in college, some of us still have teens and younger children occupying our focus at home, and those of us who are single enrich our shared experience with their perspective. Some of us are beginning (or are well into) the journey of caring for aging parents. Through all of the challenges life presents, we endeavor to be more than just a Bible study group: our intention is to be a “family unit” within our local congregation. Towards that end, we strive to love each other (through good times and bad) with behavior that is: authentic; considerate; encouraging; patient; and humble. In class, the teaching style is dialogue-focused with an emphasis on class participation. Our study topics vary from specific books of the Bible to contemporary books that help us integrate God’s word into our lives through a more topical focus. We fellowship with each other outside the class room in the context of at least six organized social events each year.
